There are numerous conditions that can affect skull and facial development. At Kansas Cleft and Craniofacial Center, the conditions we treat regularly include Pierre-Robin syndrome, Hemifacial Microsomia, Treacher-Collins, as well as other less common conditions. We see babies, especially those who have difficulty breathing due to their anatomy, often shortly after birth in the neonatal intensive care unit. Other children often referred to our center from their primary physicians.
Along with all of our specialists, our board-certified fellowship-trained Craniofacial Surgeon uses the latest techniques to help your child breath better, eat better, and thrive. Our center routinely employs craniofacial distraction (cranial, maxillary, and mandibular) and free flap reconstruction of the head & neck. Your child’s surgery will usually be done at Wesley Children’s Hospital, with fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologists supervising anesthesia and a dedicated pediatric unit with pediatric nursing for recovery after surgery.

We know how important your child’s face and skull are to feeding, breathing, speech, tooth development, growth, and overall well-being. Our goal is to help your child function, look, feel, and do his or her best by utilizing the latest, proven advances in the field of craniofacial surgery. At the Kansas Cleft and Craniofacial Center, we are proud to be an ACPA-approved multidisciplinary clinic, where your child can be followed by plastic surgery/craniofacial surgery, otolaryngology, oral surgery, orthodontics, speech therapy, audiology, dental hygiene, and social work, all in one visit! Attending such a clinic regularly is critical to optimizing your child’s outcome.
