Abnormalities in ear shape are very common in babies. They can happen in about 20% of newborn infants. Many can correct themselves in the first few weeks after birth. However, if not corrected by 2 weeks of age, your baby may benefit from a non-surgical molding system to correct ear shape and prevent surgery (otoplasty) when your baby gets older. Ear molding is best started prior to 3 weeks of age and not later than 6 weeks of age.
